Construction Field Representative (Civil/Stormwater)

Construction Field Representative | Specialty:  Civil / Stormwater

ICON Engineering is seeking a Construction Field Representative to join our Team. The assigned work will primarily involve public civil engineering projects related to stormwater pipes and channels, natural streams, utilities, community parks and trail systems, roadways and parking lots. The person who fills this position will operate outside, in a field environment, and assist in the observation, documentation, review and coordination for these types of projects.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform field observations and construction documentation for a variety of project sites, with focus on urban waterways, natural streams, storm sewers and culverts, utilities and pavement
  • Observations and reporting on the quality and accuracy of construction activities. Generate field reports for clients
  • Communicate with project managers, contractors, engineers, clients, utility owners, and other applicable field personnel at project sites.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships while ensuring all construction work meets project standards
  • In depth understanding of construction plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and other construction related documents.
  • Review construction materials submittals, measure field quantities and review monthly contractor pay applications
  • Understand stormwater management, erosion and sediment control
  • Utilize AutoCAD to assist with field orders, change orders, Record Drawings, Erosion & Sediment Control Drawings, and design redlines
  • Review and interpretation of construction documents and Specifications
  • Prepare Agendas and Meeting Minutes, attend routine construction meetings, and present information to clients

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction related field
  • 2-4 years of relevant construction experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Willingness to ask questions, seek instruction, and problem solve
  • Close proximity to ICON’s office in Centennial is preferred

Stormwater Design Engineer - Centennial (EI)

Entry-Level Design Engineer (EIT) | Specialty: Stream, Stormwater, Parks & Open Space

ICON Engineering is seeking a water resources engineer to join our Team. The project work will involve stream restoration and stabilization and a variety of stormwater management designs as part of multi-disciplinary teams. There are also opportunities to work on parks, trails and water quality enhancement projects. The person who fills this position will assist in the assessment, analysis, design, permitting, implementation and construction of these types of projects and have a passion for streams, natural resources, watersheds, open space planning and urban stormwater management.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Applying science and engineering to investigate and design restoration, stabilization, and enhancement, solutions for degraded riverine, riparian, and urban waterway environments
  • Study watersheds, analyze basin characteristics, precipitation, and runoff volumes
  • Designing storm sewers, culverts, and detention/water quality systems
  • Floodplain studies and related FEMA flood mapping products
  • Erosion and sediment control, Stormwater Management Plans (SWMP)
  • Work with surveyors, landscape architects, planners, ecologists and others to deliver high quality project solutions
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop innovative construction drawings
  • Construction documents, Specifications and cost estimates
  • Prepare outreach materials, attend meetings, and present technical information to clients
  • Assist with construction services for stream, stormwater, park, and trail improvements. This includes a field presence

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with emphasis in a water resources or an environmental field
  • EI designation or the ability to obtain within 6-months of hire date
  • 2-4 years of full-time experience in water resource and civil engineering
  • Interests in stream restoration, parks, recreational trails, and/or open spaces
  • Ability to participate in a hybrid working environment that will require an in-office presence
  • Experience working in a team environment. Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to ask questions, seek instruction, and problem solve
