SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER: Centennial Office

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER | Hydrology, Hydraulics, Master Planning and Design

ICON Engineering is a Denver area civil engineering consulting firm specializing in water resources, stormwater and floodplain management. We are known for solving complex watershed and community infrastructure projects with engineering excellence. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead multi-disciplinary teams through hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain and stormwater studies, and design projects as well as build client relationships in these practice areas. The ideal candidate brings genuine enthusiasm for natural resources, watersheds and the communities these projects serve

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical duties including H&H modeling oversight, floodplain and stormwater studies, QA/QC for design, and engineering support for construction.
  • Project management duties including project scope, schedule and budget development and monitoring; preparing invoices for client billing; team workload planning; leading routine group meetings; participating in project manager meetings, and mentoring staff.
  • Champion relationships and business development with clients. Assist with client communication, writing proposals for project pursuits and contract negotiations.
  • Prepare outreach materials, lead meetings, and present technical information to clients.
  • Lead teams with surveyors, landscape architects, planners, ecologists and others to deliver high quality project deliverables.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with emphasis in water resources or an environmental field
  • PE designation
  • More than 10 years of full-time experience in water resource engineering and at least 5 years in a project management capacity.
  • Ability to participate in a hybrid working environment that will require an in-person presence (Centennial Office)
  • Experience working in a team environment. Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with EPA SWMM, CUHP, HEC RAS, 2D models, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ESRI, Microsoft

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in water resources
  • CFM certification
  • MHFD and other local agency experience in the Denver, CO area

PROJECT ENGINEER: Fort Collins Office

Project Engineer | Specialty: Stormwater, Floodplain, and Stream Restoration Project Engineer (EI)

ICON Engineering is seeking a civil or environmental engineer to join our Northern Colorado Team. This Team enjoys working on a wide range of stormwater analysis and design projects including storm drainage systems, water quality BMPs, flood mitigation, and stream restoration located in Northern Colorado. These projects are often multi-disciplinary and exemplify all aspects of stormwater and civil infrastructure design. Project examples may include: technical floodplain analysis using 1D and 2D HECRAS; hydrology studies using HEC-HMS, HEC-SSP, or CUHP; design of stormwater systems and stream restoration projects using EPA-SWMM and Civil3D; major drainageway floodplain studies and FEMA map revision preparation using ArcGIS; and water quality improvement design. Strong communication and technical writing skills are required for project documentation and collaboration with project teams and clients. The person who fills this position will assist over the life cycle of these projects, from assessment, to planning, design, permitting, and construction. The ideal candidate will have a passion for stormwater management, flood mitigation, streams, rivers, and watersheds and a desire to grow in their career. A highly qualified candidate will bring experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using the computer programs noted above.

This position is located in Fort Collins, CO. The position is hybrid but regular business hours and working 3-4 days per week in-office is expected. The position will also include occasional field work/ site visits generally in Northern Colorado/ along Colorado’s Front Range. The successful candidate will collaborate with members of ICON’s Northern Colorado Team and strong teamwork/ interpersonal skills are essential.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze stormwater and flood mitigation infrastructure
  • Study watersheds, analyze basin characteristics, precipitation, and runoff volumes
  • Design storm drains, detention/water quality systems, channels, and natural drainage systems
  • Floodplain studies and related FEMA flood mapping
  • Stormwater Management, Erosion and Sediment Control, and Master Planning studies
  • Design stream restoration projects
  • Construction plan development
  • Collaborate with design team
  • Project documentation
  • Attend meetings, and present technical information to clients
  • Work under the guidance and supervision from ICON’s Project Management Team 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • Engineering Intern (EI) or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • 0 to 2 years of civil or water resources engineering experience
  • Willingness to learn new software programs
  • Willingness to ask questions, seek instruction, and problem solve
  • Ability to participate in a small team, collaborative, hybrid working environment

 

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with HEC-RAS, EPA SWMM, and other hydraulic modeling software
  • Experience with HEC-HMS, CUHP, and other hydrologic modeling software
  • Experience with ArcGIS
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Experience with FEMA floodplain studies and/or storm sewer design projects
