This study provides an updated hydrologic evaluation of the Old Town Basin and a capacity analysis for the major outfalls that provide drainage. The 2-, 10-, and 100-year storm frequencies were used in conjunction with existing land use data to develop storm discharge magnitudes throughout the basin.
EPA-SWMM version 5.1 was used to construct the primary hydrologic model of the watershed. Many street intersections within the basin are flat and create split flow situations. For this reason FLO-2D was also utilized in the development and calibration of the hydrologic model. Offsite hydrographs from the Colorado State University Campus, and spill flows from adjacent canals were obtained from previous studies and incorporated into the model. The resulting model provides hydrographs and peak flow data for the entire Old Town basin.
