ICON Engineering, Inc. was founded in January 1997, but our roots go back much further. We originally did business as the Colorado branch office of the Washington D.C. area based Greenhorne & O'Mara from 1981 to 1996. We ventured out in 1997 to form our own, locally owned and operated firm. Our areas of service included nearly all aspects of civil engineering supplemented by our in-house survey / mapping capabilities. We have widely respected capabilities in both public and private sector infra-structure planning, design, and construction management. We are perhaps best known for our expertise in water resources, with primary emphasis in drainage and flood control.

ICON personnel are registered in Colorado and nearly all surrounding States. Our Project Teams are typically headed by a Principal-In-Charge supported by Senior Professionals, Design Engineers, Technicians and Administrative Personnel. We have established relationships with a wide range of specialists who we bring in for additional support as needed. Our current staff of twenty includes ten registered professionals supported by our talented engineering and surveying support personnel.
ICON uses the industry’s most current standards and computer software in developing efficient and cost effective solutions. Our engineers and surveyors are supported with the latest versions of a wide range of software including: Autodesk Land Development Desktop, ArcGIS, ArcView, GeoRAS, Civil Design and Survey; HEC 1-6; HEC RAS; Boss HEC-2; SWMM; CUHPF-PC; Flowmaster; StormCAD; Star*Net Least Squares; Star*Net GPS; SDR Link; and TerraModel.
Our primary survey tools are Wild TC1010 3” Total Stations with On-Board Data Collectors; Leitz SET3 3” Total Stations with Sokkia SDR 33 Data Collectors, Sokkia GPS / RTK Base Station, and Robotic Transit and Leica NA2002 Digital Levels with On-Board Data Collection.
Office Location
Our office is conveniently located in the Highlands Square Office Complex, south of the Denver Tech Center and just north of Park Meadows Mall. To reach us, exit I-25 west bound at County Line Road. Go past the first light at Chester Street, and turn north (right) onto Akron Street. Our office is in suite 300 on the northeast corner of 8100 S. Akron.
